Medical Microrobotics: From Benchtop to Bedside
The UK Microsystems Network is delighted to announce its first event of 2026 —
Medical Microrobotics: From Benchtop to Bedside. This one-day meeting, on the 7th of January at the Wivenhoe House Hotel, University of Essex (Colchester, Essex), will bring together leading researchers working at the intersection of microrobotics, microfabrication, and medicine to explore the future of miniature robotic systems in healthcare.
Microrobotics holds transformative potential for diagnostics, targeted therapy, and minimally invasive procedures. This event will showcase emerging research on actuation, control, materials, and system integration and discuss the translational steps required to take microrobotic technologies from laboratory prototypes to clinical reality.
Confirmed speakers include Prof. Bradley Nelson (ETH Zurich), Prof. Keyoumars Ashkan (KCL),
Prof. Yang Liu (University of Exeter), Prof. Maziar Nezhad (University of Salford), Dr. Veronica Iacovacci (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna), Dr. Shuhei Miyashita (University of Sheffield), Dr. Qi Zhou (University of Edinburgh) and Dr. James Chandler (University of Leeds)
