The UK Microsystems Network will host a one-day workshop on MEMS for Harsh Environments, bringing together academic and industrial perspectives on microsystems designed to operate beyond conventional laboratory or consumer settings. The event will explore how MEMS technologies can be developed, packaged, tested and deployed in challenging environments, including aerospace, space, industrial, energy and high-reliability sensing applications.
The workshop will feature invited talks from:
Cathal Duffy, IceMOS Technology
Professor Dinesh Pamunuwa, University of Bristol
Mark Marshall, Silicon Sensing
Professor Liejie Li, Swansea University
Patrick Risch, Glassomer, Germany
The event will provide an opportunity to discuss materials, fabrication routes, device reliability, packaging, commercialisation and the wider role of harsh-environment MEMS within the UK microsystems ecosystem. It also supports the Network’s wider aim of connecting academia and industry, strengthening collaboration, and raising the profile of microsystems as an enabling technology across multiple sectors.
