The UK Microsystems Network is pleased to invite applications to our International Travel Funding, designed to spark new collaborations between Network members and the wider international research community, and to strengthen the relationships that underpin world-leading microsystems activity across the UK.
This funding is intended to strengthen links between the UK microsystems community and leading international organisations and facilities. It can support visits by UK Network members to overseas partners, and it can also support international microsystems researchers travelling to the UK to engage with UK groups and facilities. Crucially, the focus is on meaningful engagement that can translate into new collaborations, knowledge exchange, strategic funding bids, and joint research outputs.
There are two routes, depending on career stage. The ECR International Travel Funding stream is specifically for early-career researchers working on microsystems in the UK, where an ECR is defined as a postdoctoral researcher, an independent research fellow, or an assistant professor within three years of appointment (with the three-year window adjusted for parental leave-related career breaks). The International Travel Fund (non-ECR) route is available for Network members who do not meet the ECR definition.
Further information on the travel funding can be found here for the general scheme and here for the ECR scheme
