Micro-Acoustics and Noise Symposium

Registration is now open for the Micro-Acoustics and Noise Symposium, a one-day event sponsored by the UK Microsystems Network, taking place on the 22nd of May 2026 at the Great Hall, Sutherland Building, Northumbria University Newcastle.

The symposium will explore current advances in acoustics, noise, vibration, micro-acoustic sensors, acoustofluidics and ultrasonics, while also addressing major UK challenges in vibration and noise. Particular focus will be placed on opportunities and solutions enabled by micro-acoustic sensors, actuators and other emerging technologies, with applications spanning engineering, healthcare and sustainability.

The programme will include keynote talks, technical presentations, demonstrations and poster sessions, creating strong opportunities for networking, collaboration and practical exchange between academics, researchers, students, industry and other stakeholders.

This event also brings together complementary activities across a number of EPSRC-funded networks, including the UK Microsystems Network, UK Acoustics Network Plus, Noise Network Plus and UK Fluids Network.
